ON FRIDAY, JUNE 25, an audience of community and corporate leaders, tastemakers, government officials and private donors were introduced to the plans for Luminocity Atlanta through an engaging and interactive Launch Party.

Hundreds of guests witnessed 14-feet-tall walking ‘tree people’, live symphony music, dancers in lighted costumes flowing amid light displays. And the wow moment? The emergence of our ‘Lumpkin Queen’ and ‘Luminary Fairy’ to live symphony music. Many gasped as our Queen, in her silken leaf and fiber optic headdress, danced outside the windows of Ventanas 14 floors above the ground in her lighted costume with the Atlanta Skyline at dusk as her backdrop. Truly magical!

You grooved to the soulful sounds of recording artist Laura Reed and Alain Eagles from Drum Cafe. The gloATL movement artists intertwined and involved guests in the energy as they moved among the crowd. You sipped on Luminoci-‘tinis’ and dined on delights Catered by A Legendary Event.

The crowd heard from our city councilman, Kwanza Hall, of District 2 and Founder and Chief Creation Officer, Kelly Nelson and others on how we will celebrate the history and diversity of the city of Atlanta through a series of 360 degree lighted parade performances that will truly uplift and energize our city.
